Earlier this morning as I was looking for Third Eye Blind’s “How’s It Going to be” on my ipod, I noticed that I have songs with common song titles that I have been playing for quite some time and these songs are from different artists and not covers.  And, I just find it very amusing.  Forgive me there are days like this that I randomly pay attention to non-essentials.

The list was supposed to start with Nelly Furtado and Macy Gray but I removed it for technical reasons; Nelly’s song is “Try” while Macy’s song is “I try”.  So to take out the guilt and be too technical about it I’m starting Kelly Clarkson and *N Sync with “Gone”.

*N Sync’s Gone

Next on my list is Beyonce and Bethany Joy Galeotti’s “Halo”

Beyonce’s Halo

Bethany’s Halo

I guess it’s too obvious that I’m a Kelly Clarkson fan.  I was supposed to include “Because of you” but I don’t exactly have Keith Martin’s song on my iPod so again, I was too technical.  Anyway, I want to finish this post big so I’m sharing the song from my two favorite girls, Pink and Kelly Clarkson with “Sober”.

I have been a fan of One Tree Hill since 2005, I was then behind 2 seasons and was convinced by one of my closest friend Ruth, who was then in UK to watch this beautiful show. I really loved how the twists and turns go and the narrative parts are always a hit. I just love the right drama and I don’t find it too dark.

But lately, the 6th season failed to catch my attention. Aside from the irregular showing of episodes, I’ve also traveled for a month outside the country and got lost track of time and was dumped with back logs from the different series of shows I am following. Also, the inclusion of the uprising shows added up to the volume of things to watch.

Anyway, just this long week end I’ve pressured myself from watching and finishing the last 5 episodes left of me to unravel from the last season. Most of us know that US shows new seasons premiere on the month of September which is basically today. In a couple of more days, Supernatural, One Tree Hill, NCIS and Brothers and Sisters to name few shows that I am religiously following will start showing (hopefully) regularly.

So suffice it to say, I was able to finish the season and surprisingly I really liked how they have ended the finale. It was the classical OTH type of ending where everyone takes part by narrating lines that actually makes sense when it is put all together.

These lines really make sense especially with me. Lately, I’m having trouble of believing. I am beginning to stop believing in love. I’m starting to give up on dreaming and everything about it.

About five years ago, someone special asked me if what are the things that I’d like to have. I kept silent and thought of it when in fact, the whole time all I know is that I want him (yeah, he is the one) to love me back and give me the things that I am longing for. I just told him with courage that I’d rather keep the number 1 thing that I want for myself because I know deep in my heart with my eyes wide open and mind totally sane that I wouldn’t and couldn’t get what I want that time.

Then, I told him instead that I’d like to be happy because I also believe that having it doesn’t necessarily mean I’d be happy.

Now five years after I still know the truth regardless the very thin line of confusion on what I’ve been trying to believe in and what I want, I am still here. But different, I can’t even recall when in the last 3 years I have dreamed about what love is.

Listening and watching the last few lines from the season finale made me think of this and told myself in deep realization, “Maybe the reason why I don’t have it is because I stopped believing”

And maybe, just maybe, if I’ll just start believing… I’d find someone out there waiting for me to believe in again.

So I’m sharing these lines and the link/clip from the show.

Mouth: (Narrating) Take a look at yourself in the mirror, who do you see looking back?
Haley: (Narrating) Is it the person you wanna be?
Dan: (Narrating) Or is there someone else you were meant to be, the person you should have been but just fell short of.
Mia: (Narrating) Is someone telling you that you can’t or you won’t? Because you can.
Chase: (Narrating) Believe that love is out there.
Nathan: (Narrating) And believe that dreams
come true everyday, because they do.
Peyton: (Narrating) Sometimes happiness doesn’t come from money or fame or power. Sometimes happiness comes from good friends and family, and from the quiet nobility of leading a good life.
Julian: (Narrating) Believe that dreams come true everyday, because they do.
Brooke: (Narrating) Believe that dreams come true everyday, because they do.
Peyton: (Narrating) So take a look in that mirror and remind yourself to be happy, because you deserve to be. Believe that.
Lucas: (Narrating) And believe that dreams come true everyday, because they do.

A month ago everything was just doing fine.  I wasn’t even thinking about it.  Love being the “it” in the story.

Well, today I’m actually not still thinking about “it” yet but I didn’t expect that I’ll get a chance to prepare to think about “it”.

You see when you get to meet someone interesting and you’d like to get to know them more, it is somehow you’re putting yourself on the chopping board.

Everyone knows by now that loving isn’t just about being happy and all good memories.  Love comes with hidden charges like heart aches or heart breaks, disagreements, and the like.

But still being subjected to this feeling called love is exciting and I’d rather experience it all over again than missing because I was too naïve to get hurt.

Besides, life is all about taking risks and surprises.

Still in denial, I keep on telling myself that it is easy being single.  I have been all my life and what’s the big fuss about having someone to cuddle with or talk to when you’re down.

It’s all crap!  And it is just a product of an escapist’s mind.

So I’ve decided that this time, I will try not to expect anything and will just let things be.

I’m not really sure if it’s around the corner right now.  But I can assure you I am doing something just so I’d get there.

What I am feeling right now is like the song Feel This by Bethany Joy-Galeotti.  Here’s the link of the video and Beatles’ Let It Be.

I am big Jensen Ackles fan and as a fan I try my best to support his project.  And this week end was like a Jensen Ackles week.  I’ve watched his 3D Valentine Horror movie and his light comedy-feel good movie Ten Inch Hero.

And this is the very reason why I am making this post.  Honestly, I was surprised with this movie.  I had a very low expectation but the first few minutes of the movie was really good.  Not to mention the soundtrack.

It is very unfortunate that this wasn’t released in the theaters because I am telling you this is a good movie.  It is about friends at work who are all looking for love.  It is about love and finding love.

Piper is looking for her long lost baby which she was forced to give up when she was fifteen.

Tish is battling her confusion of lust over love and using sex as a weapon to find love.

Priestly is too afraid to show his true feelings and hiding thru a pretense of machismo and comic relief to everyone.

Jen is too shy and has chosen to be on the background and look for her love in romance in the cyberspace from a person she hasn’t even met.

And lastly is Trucker, the owner of the diner, who is in need to find courage to pursue his love that is just across the street.

The story is so simple and yet it is real.  It is about one’s journey of finding love and how love finds him back.  It is something familiar, the long way and in the end… you’ll get your love.

What else did I like about it?  The soundtrack, 3 songs were sung by my favorite artist from One Tree Hill Bethany Joy Galeotti and I’m sharing the links of the songs.

Something Familiar

I love Bethany Joy’s voice and when my friend Ruth gave me a copy of compilation of her songs, Leaving Town Alive became one of my favorites.  At first, I loved it because of its melody, and her magical voice.  And as always, I’d check out the lyrics and try to comprehend its meaning.

In my opinion, I think what the song wants us to learn is what life is about.  It is about living our lives to the fullest.  And part of it is committing mistakes and learning from it.   No matter how we’ve started, we journey on life with no idea of what lies ahead.  We’d wonder endlessly, everyday, every move we make and we should simply live life to the fullest.  Carpe Diem!  Seize the day!

And in the end, we’d leave our lives and leave a mark for the others to remember like a legacy, like a book to read.  It is what we make; it is life that we call.

And to give life justice is we should just enjoy our journey and race up to the finish.  After all, life is for the living, the forgiven and for leaving town alive.

Here’s the song’s lyrics and you tube link for you to enjoy the song.

Leaving Town Alive Lyrics by Bethany Joy Galleoti

Spending all your money
Ain’t it funny how the time goes by?
First you start believing
Then you’re leaving for no reason
And you’re wondering why
So till the morning breaks
Go and make your mistakes
Don’t be surprised if your head hurts
Life is for the living, the forgiven and for leaving town alive

Whisper in the ways
Watching days and moving on
You wake up every Monday then suddenly it’s Sunday
And the week is gone
So till the morning breaks
Go and make your mistakes
Don’t be surprised at the sunrise
Life is for the living, the forgiven and for leaving town alive

Oh, do you wonder where it starts
Where it ends
What you find around the bend
Oh, do you wonder where she’s from
Where she goes
No one knows
Now and then you wonder
Why you’re spending all your money
Ain’t it funny how she walks on by?
She had you all believing
Now she’s leaving for no reason
And you’re wondering why

So till the morning breaks
Go and make your mistakes
Don’t be surprised if your heart hurts
Life is for the living, the forgiven and for leaving town alive

Oh, do you wonder where it starts
Where it ends
What you find around the bend
And oh, do you wonder where she’s from
Where she goes
No one knows
Now and then

Oh, do you wonder where it starts
Where it ends
What you find around the bend
And do you wonder where she’s from
Where she goes
No one knows
Now and then you wonder

Why life is for the living, the forgiven and the leaving town alive
Life is for the living, the forgiven and the leaving town alive

By now if you have been reading my blog you won’t be surprised with this post.

My friend Ruth and I used to sing this song from Bethany Joy Lenz-Galeotti “Day after Today”.  I am featuring this song because I just remembered Ruth and these lines

“I ain’t never been to New York City
I ain’t seen the San Francisco Bay
I ain’t never tried my hand in Vegas”

We’ve always dreamed of going in the US together and right now I got the chance to go here but still those lines are still true.  No NYC, Vegas but tonight I will be meeting up my good friends from high school, Thea, Pianne and Elmer.  I have not seen them for quite some time and we will be going to San Francisco where Pianne lives.  I just don’t know if i’ll see the San Francisco Bay.

Anyway, I just do hope next time I get to visit US, (God only knows when this will be) I’ll have the chance to see other sites.  So here are the song lyrics and the YouTube link of the song.

Day After Today

Said I want to live the city life
This small town could eat me alive
I gotta pack my things and go where the railroad takes me
Mama’s too poor to send me away
But I’ve been saving up on most everyday
Little bit out of each check from the Gas & Deli

And the whistle keeps on blowing
And the train keeps on rolling

And he said
I ain’t never been to New York City
I ain’t seen the San Francisco Bay
I ain’t never tried my hand in Vegas
But you bet your bottom dollar
That’s where I’m going the day after today

So he locked the door and he killed the lights
Took a six pack to get him through the night
Didn’t have a plan just a good sense of direction
And Maybelline, his beauty queen
She cried all night cause the sheet were clean
But he left her a lovers’ note there apologizing

He said I hear the whistle blowing
Gotta catch it the train is rolling

And he said
I ain’t never been to New York City
I ain’t seen the San Francisco Bay
I ain’t never tried my hand in Vegas
But you bet your bottom dollar
That’s where I’m going the day after today

The air is thick on the concrete isle
Ain’t nothing green for like twenty miles
And he ain’t use to the sun and moon a hiding
So he took his foot from out his mouth
And he packed his things and went back down south
But Maybelline said “Babe my time’s arising.”

Said I hear the whistle blowing
Gotta catch it the train is rolling

And she said
I ain’t never been to New York City
I ain’t seen the San Francisco Bay
I ain’t never tried my hand in Vegas
I never seen the L.A lights shine bright
Bright, brighter than your smile was ever
Brighter than my desire was ever
Longer burning than our love was ever….

And she said
I ain’t never been to New York City
I ain’t seen the San Francisco Bay
I ain’t never tried my hand in Vegas
But you bet your bottom dollar
That’s where I’m going the day after today

I am a big fan of Bethany Joy Galeotti.  I have discovered her beautiful voice from my friend Ruth.  She is the star of One Tree Hill, she plays Haley James-Scott.

I really love her voice.  In fact, my favorite song of hers is “Honestly” of which I have a previous post before.  And just recently her song “Feel This” is being played on local radio (RX).  So I really try to request for it everyday so it could make it to the top.  I love the start of the song because it sounds so angelic.  I just love her!

So here are the lyrics and youtube links of the song, too.  Hope you enjoy this!

FEEL THIS

ah ah ah ah ah ah
ah ah ah ah ah ah

It’s gotta be this one
You don’t have to fake it
You know I can take it
What if I told you
Your tears
Haven’t been ignored
And everything
That was taken
Can be restored

[Chorus:]
Feel this
Can you feel this
My heart beating
Out of my chest
Feel this
Can you feel this
Salvation
Under my breath

It’s gotta be just right
Soul and spirit
Chord and lyric
What if I told you
That innocence is yours
And the beauty you have now
Is brighter than before
Before

[Chorus]

Let go, let go of me, let go
Let go of me, let go, let go of me
Let go

(Chorus)
